What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?
One Solitary Life
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in still another village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was 30. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a house. He didn’t go to college. He never traveled more than 200 miles from the place He was born. He did none of the things one usually associates with greatness. He had no credentials but Himself. He was only 33 when public opinion turned against Him. His friends deserted Him. He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. When He was dying, His executioners gambled for His clothing, the only property He had.. . . on earth. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend. Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race, the leader of mankind’s progress. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on earth as much as that One Solitary Life. Galatians 4:4-5

Seven areas in which the world has forever been changed by the impact of the birth of Christ:
1. Because Christ lived the world has attached a new value to human life.Genesis 1:27
27 So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female.
2. Because Christ lived the world has changed the way it responds to those in need.Proverbs 14:21
21 It is a sin to hate your neighbor,
but being kind to the needy brings happiness.
3. Because Christ lived the world has changed the way it thinks about education.Deuteronomy 6:6-7
6 Always remember these commands I give you today. 7 Teach them to your children, and talk about them when you sit at home and walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
4. Because Christ lived the world has its view about self-government.
5. Because Christ lived the world has changed its view about science.
6. Because Christ lived the world has its view of human sexuality.7. Because Christ lived there is the possibility of forgiveness for our sins.
If Christ had not come life would be meaningless.
If Christ had not come there would be no forgiveness for sin.
If Christ had not come there would be no sure hope of Eternal life.
But Christ was born, and Oh the difference it has made.
The world was different because Christ lived.
Is the world different because you are a Christian?
